Outside of membership dues, Invest Canada is the CVCA’s primary source of operating revenue and represents a major fundraising effort for the organization.
While historically CVCA has always implemented a “no refund allowed” policy for the Invest Canada conference, for 2022 the organization has temporarily amended this policy. Please note: CVCA’s no cancellation policy will continue in 2023, for Invest Canada ’23.
It is critical for the organization to determine attendee numbers to adequately prepare for a successful event. Given the unpredictable nature of the global pandemic, CVCA will allow cancellations, but only for early registrants—covering the first two weeks of registration, which are ticket purchases made before March 23.
For more information about our cancelation policy:
Cancellations will only be honoured for ticketholders who made ticket purchases during the FIRST TWO WEEKS of registration, from March 10 – March 22, 11:59PM ET. Tickets purchased during the first two weeks of registration will be permitted to request a refund of up to 50% on or before April 23, 2022, at 11:59PM ET.
Requests for cancellation refunds must be made in writing and be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
The Westin Ottawa operates independently of CVCA and the Invest Canada conference and has informed us they will accommodate full hotel room reservation refunds up to 11:59pm 72 hours prior to your arrival date.
For Substitutions: If you’re unable to attend Invest Canada, you may send someone in your place. Substitutions may be made on or before Friday, May 18, 2022, with written confirmation from the person registered. Note: If you are a CVCA member and your replacement is a non-member, that person must pay any outstanding balance because of the difference in fees. Attendees are responsible for their own and any changes to their accommodations.
In the highly unlikely case that the event is forced to be canceled, the conference will be delivered in a virtual-only format and all ticketholders will be refunded the cost difference between in-person and virtual ticket types.
If quarantine or isolation during the conference is required due to a positive COVID-19 test or exposure to COVID-19, the attendee will be responsible for any expenses incurred including, but not limited to lodging, meals, incidentals, and altered travel.
Invest Canada 22 will be held in accordance with guidance from Public Health Ontario.
Invest Canada ‘22 expects each attendee to take appropriate personal safety precautions throughout the event. Click here to read the province of Ontario’s current statement regarding health measures.
We ask that good public health practices to be followed to further the health and wellness and the safety and welfare of all that participate. Health practices should include personal health checks, not participating in events if experiencing illness, and managing risk factors for attendance in public events.
Attendees should refrain from participation if exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. This includes fever and other flu-like symptoms, coughing or shortness of breath, and the inability to taste or smell. Symptoms may also include sore throat, runny nose, or headache.
Precautions are being implemented by our host venue, The Westin Ottawa, in light of COVID-19 concerns. Click here to read The Westin’s wellness and cleanliness policies.
Invest Canada ‘22 cannot guarantee measures taken will fully protect attendees from contracting COVID-19. Please note that guidelines may change as the conference date approaches, based on changes to Public Health guidelines.
