What is your cancellation policy?

Outside of membership dues, Invest Canada is the CVCA’s primary source of operating revenue and represents a major fundraising effort for the organization.

While historically CVCA has always implemented a “no refund allowed” policy for the Invest Canada conference, for 2022 the organization has temporarily amended this policy. Please note: CVCA’s no cancellation policy will continue in 2023, for Invest Canada ’23.

It is critical for the organization to determine attendee numbers to adequately prepare for a successful event. Given the unpredictable nature of the global pandemic, CVCA will allow cancellations, but only for early registrants—covering the first two weeks of registration, which are ticket purchases made before March 23.

Cancellations will only be honoured for ticketholders who made ticket purchases during the FIRST TWO WEEKS of registration, from March 10 – March 22, 11:59PM ET. Tickets purchased during the first two weeks of registration will be permitted to request a refund of up to 50% on or before April 23, 2022, at 11:59PM ET.

Requests for cancellation refunds must be made in writing and be sent to ebedell@cvca.ca

The Westin Ottawa operates independently of CVCA and the Invest Canada conference and has informed us they will accommodate full hotel room reservation refunds up to 11:59pm 72 hours prior to your arrival date.

For Substitutions: If you’re unable to attend Invest Canada, you may send someone in your place. Substitutions may be made on or before Friday, May 20, 2022, with written confirmation from the person registered. Note: If you are a CVCA member and your replacement is a non-member, that person must pay any outstanding balance because of the difference in fees. Attendees are responsible for their own and any changes to their accommodations.

In the highly unlikely case that the event is forced to be canceled, the conference will be delivered in a virtual-only format and all ticketholders will be refunded the cost difference between in-person and virtual ticket types.

If quarantine or isolation during the conference is required due to a positive COVID-19 test or exposure to COVID-19, the attendee will be responsible for any expenses incurred including, but not limited to lodging, meals, incidentals, and altered travel.

Can I register for one day only? Do you have a special day rate?

CVCA does not offer any daily rates. Any members wishing to participate in any part of the conference are required to register for the whole conference.

Who gets a copy of the order receipt?

The purchaser will receive a copy of the receipt via email address provided. Each individual registrant, as part of the order will receive a separate confirmation of their event registration via email, but not a copy of the order receipt.

Why doesn’t the person I am registering get the member rate?

If you belong to an organization that has a CVCA membership, but the person you are registering is not listed on the member roster, they will pay the non-member rate. If you are unsure if you qualify for member pricing, please check with your membership administrator before registering. Price adjustments will not be permitted.

Who qualifies for the member group rate?

Group tickets will be available starting March 23!

CVCA members firms registering six or more attendees from the same organization will receive a 15% discount off regular pricing. All delegates must be registered at the same time to be eligible for the discount. Service provider members may register both designated members and non-members from within their firm. This offer cannot be combined with any other CVCA conference offer. Price adjustments will not be permitted.

I am sponsoring and/or speaking at the event, how do I register?

The CVCA will be in touch with you or your organization directly with instructions about your registration. If you are unsure whether you qualify please contact membership@cvca.ca.

Can I edit or change another person's event registration?

Contact the CVCA to make any changes to any registration: events@cvca.ca. Deadline to make any substitutions will be May 18, 2022.

MEDIA

I'm a member of the media, can I register for a media pass?

Media passes are not available for the Invest Canada conference. However, passes will be assessed on a case-by-case & non-urgent basis. Please contact our Head of Communications: news@cvca.ca

ACCESSIBILITY

I have an access requirement, who should I get in touch with about attending the event?

If you have any access requirements, please indicate so during the registration process or contact us at events@cvca.ca as far as possible in advance of the event so that arrangements, where possible, can be made.
