Invest Canada ‘20 will be held at the Fairmont Royal York, 100 Front Street W, Toronto, Ontario, Canada– need to know more about how to register? Or who qualifies for the member rate? The answers to these and more can be found below.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is no refund for cancelling your Invest Canada registration. Substitutions are permitted.

For Substitutions: If you’re unable to attend Invest Canada, you may send someone in your place. Substitutions may be made on or before Friday, June 5, 2020 with written confirmation from the person registered. Note: If you are a CVCA member and your replacement is a non-member, that person must pay any outstanding balance because of the difference in fees.

Can I register for one day only? Do you have a special day rate?

CVCA does not offer any daily rates. Any members wishing to participate in any part of the conference are required to register for the whole conference.

Who gets a copy of the order receipt?

The purchaser will receive a copy of the receipt via email address provided. Each individual registrant, as part of the order will receive a separate confirmation of their event registration via email, but not a copy of the order receipt.

Why doesn’t the person I am registering get the member rate?

If you are part of an organization which has a CVCA membership whereby you have been designated a member account, you will automatically receive the member rate. If you belong to an organization which has a CVCA membership, but the person you are registering is not listed on the member roster, they will pay the non-member rate.

If you are unsure if you qualify for member pricing, please check with your membership administrator before registering. Price adjustments will not be permitted.

Who qualifies for the member group rate?

CVCA members firms registering six or more attendees from the same organization will receive a 15% discount off early bird pricing. All delegates must be registered at the same time to be eligible for the discount. Service provider members may register both designated member and non-members from within their firm.

This offer cannot be combined with any other CVCA conference offer. Price adjustments will not be permitted.

I am sponsoring and/or speaking at the event, how do I register?

The CVCA will be in touch with you or your organization directly with instruction about your registration. If you are unsure whether you qualify please contact membership@cvca.ca.

Can I edit or change another person's event registration?

While it is possible to create an event registration for another person, only the person registered can edit their existing registration.

I'm a member of the media, can I register for a media pass?

For many of our events we can set aside a limited number of seats for members of the media. Please contact our Head of Communications here. If you would like to request a media pass or have a media query about any events.

I have an access requirement, who should I get in touch with about attending the event?

If you have any access requirements, please indicate so during the registration process or contact us at membership@cvca.ca as far as possible in advance of the event so that arrangements, where possible, can be made.

Precautions to protect the health and well-being of attendees

The spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is receiving significant attention across global media outlets. This is a fluid and escalating situation with guidance changing daily as instances of infection are uncovered. We want to take this opportunity to assure you that the safety of our members, colleagues and partners is of paramount importance to us. As such, we are closely monitoring the situation and strictly adhering to the advice from official governing bodies. We are, therefore:

  • Following relevant travel advice and adhering to travel restrictions
  • Adhering to the management directives from our local medical association, which is:
    • The case definition of COVID-19 in Canada is:
      Anyone who has relevant symptoms (fever, new onset of cough or difficulty breathing) in combination with any of the following within 14 days prior to onset of illness:

      • travel to an impacted area,
      • OR close contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19,
      • OR close contact with a person with acute respiratory illness who has been to an impacted area.
      • Anyone who meets this case definition must be reported to your local public health unit.

Special Accommodations for Limited Partners: Complimentary entrance to Invest Canada ‘20 for LPs is determined solely by the judgment and discretion of the CVCA. Guests of LPs must be requested and approved by the CVCA in advance and cannot exceed the maximum of three passes.

Price adjustments will not be permitted.

Information Publication

By completing an Invest Canada ‘20 registration, you consent to the having contact information, as provided here to the CVCA, published as part of the official Invest Canada ‘20 delegate list.

You also grant the CVCA, its representatives and employees the right to take photographs of you in reference to Invest Canada ‘20. You agree that CVCA may use such photographs with or without your name and for any lawful purpose including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, and Web content.

Invest Canada ’20 delegate list

Each year, Invest Canada attract hundreds of attendees from more than 250 companies. To aid delegates in their planning, CVCA publishes an official list of registered attendees including title, company, and email address. This list is only shared with those registered to attend the conference and we do not share attendee contact information with third parties. Emails pertaining to Invest Canada ’20 will come from the domain “@cvca.ca” – if someone contacts you from an unfamiliar domain, please forward to membership@cvca.ca to verify the source. We kindly ask that those who receive the attendee list utilize it to interact in a collaborative, genuine ways and refrain from eblast/bulk emailing delegates with unsolicited pitches or invitations. When in doubt, the only way to truly connect with our industry is to join us at Invest Canada ’20.

We ask that all attendees, speakers, sponsors and other guests of Invest Canada ’20 behave respectfully, harassment, discrimination, bullying and other unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated. If you’re asked – whether by an Invest Canada ’20 organizer or another attendee – to stop your behaviour, you’re expected to do so immediately and respectfully.

If you have a complaint or concern about harassment, discrimination, bullying or any other conduct, we encourage you to tell event staff or security personnel immediately. If you witness this happening to someone else, please report that, too. You may request that your report remain completely confidential.
